Hungary's Immigrant Tsunami


Since the beginning of 2015, Hungary has registered 120,000 migrants, mostly from Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq, as asylum seekers. The flood of immigrants intro Hungary across the Serbian border is a controversial issue that has sparked a fierce debate in all corners of society and across the entire political spectrum. Train stations, underpasses, and city parks have become temporary homes for many of these migrants, including young children. As the debate rages on not only in Hungary but across Europe, the undeniable reality is that the immigrants are here on our doorstep.
